It’s hard not having a driver..

I am still looking...
I find myself feeling a bit left out when it comes to the chit chat at the track. I found it hard to watch as Robby took the field for practice and I am usually the only one that is up on my feet cheering. Not this year: It’s still a rumor, but I can’t stand up for a guy that doesn’t step up and be a man. It’s all about doing the right thing, when hero’s disappoint, its hard. I was listening to a bunch of drivers on the scanner; Chad Knaus is still my favorite crew chief, but Jimmy Johnson, not sure about him as my driver.
The first practice for the cup cars wasn’t really a practice: two cautions that kept the track in a red flag status for most of the time, even when the time was extended. Robby Gordon got into the wall when his tire blew. A couple of laps later, Tony Stewart blew a tire and an inner liner. The track officials took an awful lot of time to clean up after Tony’s wreck. Goodyear was saying that Tony hit a piece of debris, it wasn’t a tire issue. Not sure on Robby’s tire. Both appeared to go to the backup cars.
Then Happy hour was much more exciting: lots of cars on the track, lots of activity, lots of shock combinations tired. Carl Edwards was the fastest, Kyle Busch was second fastest and Kurt Busch followed by David Reutimann, Clint Bowyer, Brian Vickers Mark Martin and Gregg Biffle.
The Nationwide Series race was rather exciting: just a few yellow flags throughout the race. It was led by Kyle Busch, followed by Carl Edwards, then Mark Martin after a two tire stop, Joey Logano, then David Reagan and Clint Bowyer.
I did a little shopping after the race: lots of the merchandise was on sale. With all the driver changes coming for 09, there are lots of deals to be had.
