How much fun can a girl have?

Way too much at the racetrack.
I headed over early to watch practice, qualifying and a rather exciting truck race last night. It was a long day at the track, but it was just what I needed. It feels great to be out of the office, have a little fun and just enjoy racing. I mean all of racing: the fans, the food, the midway, the crowds, Speed TV, the cars and the drivers.
It was a special Truck or Treat night at the track. With the Truck series running on Halloween night, the track had the kids, adults and little ones dress up and do some strolling in the midway for a candy and giveaways. I love Texas Motor Speedway; they always come up with good fun promotions. It was a blast to watch the trick or treater’s in costume scurrying for candy.
The truck race went off with a couple of cautions: a mistake and 5 trucks were involved in a wreck that caused a 10 lap caution. Ron Hornaday came from a lap down when he got caught in the pits during a caution to take the checkers. Kyle Busch, Johnny Benson and Todd Bodine followed by Colin Braun. This makes the truck race for the championship even tighter: 6 points separate Hornaday and Benson for the title.
It’s off for to the track for the two cup practices this morning and the Nationwide Race this afternoon. Is more fun in store? Probably!
