Excavation:
09/14/2008

It’s time for me to get a life.

I did some shopping yesterday; I spent a couple of hours in the stores. I was looking for some cloths, some knick knacks and ended up with just a few items. I am very excited I found some shampoo and conditioner on sale and spent the evening looking forward to using them this morning. It’s time for change, that's pretty pathetic isn’t it?

I guess that tells me my little world is good, no financial worries, no family issues and no relationship issues. I have to admit, life is quite boring right now other than work drama. Work is not going to change, so I just have to deal with it on a day to day basis. I take a deep breath as I walk in the door: I try to leave my frustrations there when I leave, I don’t want to take them home with me.

I am a bit lonely right now: most days it’s not an issue for me but this weekend, the loneliness is creeping in. I would love to find someone to pal around with. I would love to have someone shower me with attention. I would like to have someone other than Saba happy to see me at the end of the day. I would like to share meals and conversations with another human: Saba’s a good listener, but that human interaction, he just doesn’t have it, he’s a dog. I would love to find that illusive thing called Love.

I haven’t looked very hard. I don’t want to do the bar scene or the club scene, that’s just not my style. I remember a dear friend telling me one day long ago in New Hampshire: “The good men, they are hiding under rocks. They have been busy with their careers, busy getting ahead. They aren’t out at the clubs, they are too busy working. You have to look hard for them. You just have to kick a few more stones to find one.” It’s time for me to start kicking more stones, time to do a bit more digging. I think its time for me to do some excavation work.
