Just wind right now, it doesn’t look like rain for me.

Ike is tracking east of Austin.
I put my wind chimes back up this morning; I missed the sound of them. They are gently swaying in the wind and giving me comfort. Today will give me an opportunity to rearrange the porch and the back yard. Since I put all the large yard items away, I can put them back in different places: I am going to try to come up with a better arrangement. I was expecting the weather to change last night; I got to bed early expecting to be woken up by storms. I left the television on and lit a candle incase the power went out. I woke up to a phone call from a friend checking on me. They had watched the weather channel and were concerned.
It was an icky day yesterday at work. I am very upset about a case, I can’t write about it.
Confusion still abounds with shelters open and who reports when and where. I got to leave work early: the city manager sent out notice that non essential personnel could leave at 3:00. I found out from another employee in the building, on her way out the door. With my position, there is always confusion. I finally got the ok to leave by 3:45.
I am still on stand by for shelter work: I didn’t volunteer when the email plea came out yesterday morning. I will head to one if I am paged and told where to go. There are a lot of extra people in town: some staying with family and friends, some staying in the shelters. The first light will bring news about the coast: It looks like Houston, Galveston and got hit hard. The people that fled the storm will be here for a while, no power, too much water and building damage according to the news this morning.
