The kitchen sink and my social life.
01/14/2008

Saba and I headed out to the park on Friday night then headed to the discount store.

No luck on the clearance item I was looking for, they were all sold out. I guess this item will have to wait. I am having an allergy problem this week: the cedar count is in the very high category and I am suffering from a stuffy nose, watery eyes, my balance is off from my clogged up head. I spent Saturday in bed, never got out of my pajamas. Saba just curled up next to me, he went in and out when things were going on in his world, but I was quite the slug.

I sometimes wonder about my kitchen sink: I noticed I can tell the state of my health, mental and physical, from my sink. If it is piled high with dishes there is something going on. I am either really busy in my social life or I am not feeling all that spunky. Needless to say, the sink was piled high with dishes on Sunday morning.

I managed to get up early Sunday morning. I got the Christmas decorations taken down and put away. I purchased some of those big plastic bins the other week, but kept getting distracted and finally on Sunday morning I filled them up, took them up to the attic and put Christmas away for the year. I washed the pile of dishes in the kitchen sink then I did a bit of clean up around the house and yard.

Next, I headed out to see a friend at the psychic fair. Good thing I called from the ATM to see if he wanted coffee: I asked if he wanted me to bring anything and said I was heading his way. He started to laugh at me and told me he was in El Paso, not Austin this weekend. I told him then I wasn’t going to bring him a cup of coffee, it would be cold by the time I arrived. I guess I wrote the date wrong on my calendar, somehow I got mixed up. I even checked the website for the address before I left the house and the date didn’t click in my mind! I regrouped and headed back home. I took a little nap and still managed to get Saba to the park on Sunday afternoon. I headed out for waffles and then headed back home for the night.

I had a discussion with Dad in the afternoon about my social life: I explained to him there would be no big interruptions if he decided to head for TX for a while. My big weekend plans usually revolved around Saba, not someone else. If he wanted to use the extra bedroom, I had no problem with that, that’s why I built the house with two bedrooms. I told him he is more than welcome to use it. My Dad is insistent he doesn’t want to interfere with my life, but I try to explain there is no problem with interference, but he just doesn’t listen. If I were ever to find THE right guy, I don’t think living with my Dad would be a big deal. My dad is lots of fun, easy going an just a nice guy.
