I helped identify the bad guy last night.

I stood Saba up, but I got 1 ½ hours of OT.
I was starting to wind down my week at work when one of the detectives got a break on an open case. There were not a lot of people left in the office so I jumped in to help where I could. I was looking through the computer for certain bits of information, found a call, found a report and found some links and I thought I had found the bad guy.
I handed the packet to the detective: I explained how they linked and I printed out a photo. We got a confirmation that was the guy we should be looking for. I was quite proud of myself. I was getting ready to leave for the evening again when more information was coming in, but it was not parts of the investigation I could help with. I headed out of the building and headed toward home. I will find out on Monday if we got the guy arrested or perhaps it will be in the news before I get back to work.
I hope we can solve this case, it didn’t get a lot of media attention, but of course there is a family out there wishing for answers. They would like to find the people that killed their loved one. I hope we can give them some good news. I know my detectives will follow up on all the leads; they will work as hard as they can to get this one from an open case to a solved case and bring the bad guy to trial. That’s part of the satisfaction of my job: knowing I help just a little bit to put the bad guys in prison.
I headed out and did a little bit of shopping from my Christmas gift cards. I managed to snag a lovely new outfit for my yoga classes. I can’t wait to wear it this afternoon. I am going to head to the gym, take a sauna, hit the pool and take a class.
