Happy Birthday Robby Gordon!
01/02/2008
I hope Dakar is great fun for you; I will be watching and cheering you on!
I had a nice 1st of the year day. I managed to get the house in order, laundry from the trip done and put back in respectable shape. I had a nice distraction for lunch, I got together with a friend to run our dogs and have some lunch. It was a nice way to spend the afternoon, I enjoyed myself, I made a wicked peanut butter sandwich, oranges from FL and some coco. Great conversations, lots to laugh about and a nice start to the new year.
I headed over to the Chili Caucus next: a neighborhood party with lots of my acquaintances. I had some great food, great conversation and met a few new people. I got to ogle the newest baby in the neighborhood, put my wish for ’08 on the wish tree and have a bowl or two of the famous chili pie. Again it was a great start to the New Year.
This morning it is back to the old routine with a few changes in mind. I hope to get out at least once a week for the rest of the year to do something fun: movie, music, dinner or a race. I want something I can look forward to each week. I am starting a new program at the house, more details later. I also dragged out the flute from the drawer it has been in for a number of years. Tonight I will take it out of its case and see how I do; it’s been a long time since I have played. Next it will be a bit of searching for a choir or some singing group. I want to get back to some of the things I really enjoy.
The trip was good for reflecting on my life. I am taking work way to serious lately. I need to fill my time with more fun, more music and more friends. That are some of my goals for ‘08.
