David Holt's new album

I have been dragging a little bit this week, I headed out to the CD release party for David Holt on Wedsday night. David Holt: his new album, 'Perpetual Motion' (Blue Corn Music, released Aug. 24, 2004) just rocks!

I had a great time at the show, love the new songs, it was great to see david getting some credit for his work. It was fun to see him up on stage, having a bit of fun. I love his voice, he is doing the vocals on this album. There was a nice group of folks that came out, saw some old friends, some folks from the media and met some others I hadn't before. I have been watching david play since I got to Ausitn 10 years ago. I have watched him play small rooms to stadium shows and every type of venue in between. I hope this project is a big success for him. I stayed out way to late for having to do the work thing the next morning.
Oh, speaking of work: What is up with folks? It seems every nut and crazy has made there way down to the police department and ended up at my window this week. It sure has been a lesson in don't judge a book by its cover week.
One guy, sort of ausitn looking, mid 20's, floppy hair, kind of unkept. Ya know the college age post grunge look? Well, he is looking for his latest arrest record. I figure it was something stupid or silly, but OH no, turned out to be weapons charges and a bunch of others added on. He has a history, about 10 years long, with violent interactions with the PD. Nice, just got to love it. I wouldn't have picked him out as the violent one.
It seems to me that if folks were normally a bit off, they were way off this week. I am sure it has to do with the planets, the full moon and the dog days of August.
I am heading down to the bar tonight to watch the race, Satuday Night racing, I just love the cars under the lights!
