Dragons and Gremlins slayed
07/20/2003

The HS reunion was last night. Lovely location, GREAT lobster and lots of thoughts and memories. I faced some demons and was able to come through it unscathed.

The oddest think that hit me is things don’t change much in CT. The people were basically the same, the bodies changed and aged. Most of the personality traits were still the same. They still dress in preppy pink and blue and the woman generally in cocktail dresses. It was nice to see some people and get caught up, others were just there to get some gossip. Some I recalled instantly and others it took a little prompting.

Most are married, average age of children in 8. Most had at least 2 a lot had 3. Some of the movers and shakers are just washed up drunks. I did notice a trend: Those that still lived in town inherited there homes from parents or grandparents. Most could no longer afford to live here but were still in Connecticut. Those that moved away generally did so for there spouses work. The group as a whole was as click oriented as ever and they have maintained social contact over the years. I should have thought to bring some photographs but I didn’t.

All in all I am glad I made the trip. I don’t think I will be back for 25th but maybe for the 30th.

I am off to the local bar to watch the NASCAR race then dinner with Cathy.
