I have a bunch of new racing buddies
07/21/2003
I headed off to the local sports bar, Tony D’s Café to watch the NASCAR races. I had checked with the owner, Tony the day before to make sure they were going to show the race. It is New England and there sure is not a lot of race news around here.
I arrived at the bar for the pre-race show and there were a few guys there. Once the race got going the bar was packed on my end. Interactive racing is different for me, I usually just watch the race at home. It was nice to have a little jabbing and ribbing going on. Robby Gordon managed to have a great race moved up from 35th to 5th. Today you will have to go to other sites for race stuff, I have to pack up the computer and head to the airport.
I had a great dinner with Cathy and family. I haven’t been to one of Cathy’s famous dinner parties in years, and it was great fun! Her husband Ernie is a doll, Cathy’s son E is a grown man now. The relatives and friends packed the house. It was great to see them all and get caught up on what’s going on in all there lives. I had to end the evening a little early, I stayed out till 3:30 am for the reunion and Mom had me up by 9 to head for a walk on the beech. I came back to the house and crashed hard last night. I will be a long day of travel again and I hope to be in my own bed before the day changes.
