I started the music part of SXSW a little early yesterday morning.
03/12/2003

I had a late night/early morning call to listen to some new music that had just been mixed and was going to be mastered shortly.

I have a friend that plays in a band that always calls me before the final cut for a listen. I feel a little privileged to do this and I know it is a big trust issue. I just wish he had somewhat normal hours. I was already in my pajamas when the call came in. It was urgent there was something I just had to listen to last night. I got out of bed and headed out and didn’t make it back until the wee hours of the morning. I managed to get to work by 10:30 but ducked out at 4 to take a nap.

My house guest left this morning in the middle of a ruckus in the hood. There were DEA agents every ware. They had swarmed the corner. I called in a panic so my guest wouldn’t walk out into the middle of this unaware. I really enjoyed having him stay at the house for the last few days. It was a lot of fun.

I worked the Chrysler Jen Art party tonight. It was a Buffalo Billiards on 6th street. They gave us this nifty goody bag as we left and I managed to get two of them. It has a nifty little gift and I have a friend that will just die when she sees it. I can’t tell you what it is yet, she reads my ratings. Guess who showed up at the party? Woody Haralson. It was neat, it created quite the sir. He was gracious with all the fans and he was having a good time as of the time I left. I ducked out at 1:30 am and headed home. I am very tired right now.
