I did something drastic this weekend.
03/12/2007

The pink stuff is in the attic, the locks on the doors and the calking is underway.

I am glad I am flexible, I was bending, stretching and navigating the in between the beams, the rafters and around the hot water heater and air conditioner. I have some interesting bruises today. Some bumps and scrapes but the insulation is done. The other items were not that difficult, just time consuming. I got caught in the rain from yesterday. I managed to work on the porches but I still need to get to the eves on the back of the house and the window in the study and bedroom.

I had sent a plea out for a ladder via my neighborhood group. I was quite surprised I ended up with 8 offers of help. One nice neighbor took the time and dropped his ladder off for me. I am going to use it this week and next weekend. I have to get this done. I will be painting the trim and porches this week.

I also stopped Saturday and did something drastic: I cut my hair. Cranky bought me a haircut for my birthday and we went to the salon together. It is gone, 7 inches lopped off the back. It is now textured and layered. I had a moment on Saturday night, after finally getting cleaned up. I looked in the mirror and I was stunned. It was one of those is that me moments. I like the cut, but I feel a bit odd not having my locks falling down my back. I wonder how long it will take the “detectives” to notice today. I wonder if I can blame it on the building stress. “The building inspector made me pull my hair out.” It might work today.

Brother called during the race. He told me my driver stunk, wrecked his driver and he was pissed off. I was in the middle of calking and said thank you for calling. I have the race on tape, I might be able to skip through it tonight. I hated to skip the race, but sometimes you just have to get the house work done.
