Racing, sleep, parties and stuff.
09/15/2003

I managed to get out of the office on time on Friday. I headed out to a party with Cranky Friday night, went down to the short track on Saturday night, watched lots of TV coverage of the New Hampshire race Sunday.

It was a real weekend for a change. Cranky invited me to a work party, it was held at the very swank house in West Austin. What a great layout for parties, pool, commercial kitchen and lots of space for guests. We were only a few miles from my house but I wondered out front sat my butt down on the manicured lawn and looked up at the stars. You can see a lot more of them once you get away from the city. I kept wondering if the “neighborhood” cops would bust me for hanging out front of the house, I actually ended up lying down and star gazed for a little while.

I only stopped at the office for a few minuets on Saturday for a no show appointment. Gosh, I hate when I go out of the way to meet someone and they don’t show or call. I headed back to my list of things to do and went to my polling place, it was a little busy, nice for a change. We had a bunch of propositions on the ballot. The results didn’t end up the way I wanted but hey I vote. Yoga Saturday afternoon then a discount store and a quick nap. I headed down to Tunderhill raceway for short track racing Satuday night. I just love short track racing, it was lots of fun, saw and old friend and her husband and got to sit in the VIP area. VIP is not all it is cracked up to be, the AC was nice but you couldn’t hear the cars.

Sunday I just hung at the house most of the day. I watched the pre race, the race and the race wrap ups. A full day of racing and then watched gone in 60 seconds. Nice movie, lots of fast cars.

Plans for the day: work and then a Journalcon meeting tonight.
