Kevin Harvick wins Indy, Robby Gordon showed well and Tony Stewart disappointed.

Cautions, fuel strategy and pit stop timing played into yesterdays race. It was an exciting race from start to finish. Tony Stewart dominated the middle of the race, his car was strong and moved up to the front quickly. I thought the Indiana boy had a chance to capture his dream of an Indy win. He had a bad pit stop and just couldn’t get back out in front.
Robby Gordon was leading the race from laps 109 to 113. I thought he could hold on to the lead but he got passed by Jamie McMurray and didn’t get back out in front for the rest of the race. He ended up placing 6th, and held off a bunch of cars as teammate Kevin Harvick dashed to the checkered flag. I would have loved to hear the in car audio from Richard Childress talking to his two drivers as they headed down the track for a 1-2 restart. TV was trying to find him but he was “unavailable”. Robby is just out of the top 10 in points, hanging at 11th. There is a road course race next week at Watkins Glens NY next week and Robby is a strong road course racer.
Indy Finishing order: Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth, Jamie McMurray, Jeff Gordon, Bill Elliott, Robby Gordon, Kurt Busch, Jimmy Spencer, Mark Martin, Rusty Wallace, Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart, Johnny Benson then Dale Jr. 12th.
Some of the drivers just seemed to appear out of no ware at the end of the race, Mark Martin, Johnny Benson and Jimmy Spencer. Somehow I didn’t see them advancing up through the pack. All in all it was an exciting race day at Indy. I can’t wait to hear from Br about his trip there. I wonder if he got me any autographs.
I watched the race yesterday and didn’t do a heck of a lot else. I have this major headache that just will not quit. I am cranky and tired of dealing with the world. Brother called yesterday and I didn’t have the energy to be supportive of his dilemma. One of the critters managed to nail the possum this morning. Thank goodness, they didn’t bring it into the house, just left it in the rose garden. Where is the man of the house? I shouldn’t have to deal with the icky things.
