Big scare and a big party last night.
06/03/2003

I had a couple of guest here last night before the big Clifford’s home party. We were out in the back yard when Saba stopped moving, he got listless and stopped breathing.

Somehow my baby choked on a stick from the back yard. It was lodged sideways down his throat. I got the stick out by shoving my hand down his throat and pulled it out. He started breathing again but he was still wondering around looking uncomfortable. I rushed him into the house and Ms. S Mc was a trooper. I was turning on the light to see what the heck was up when she pulled this little piece of stick out from between his back teeth. Thank god he was ok. I was as scared as hell. He just bounced right back, he is such a boy!

P. and the adorable puppy arrived a few minuets later to have some play time. Saba acted as if nothing had happened. The two of them just started off and ran laps around the yard and the house. It took about an hour and the puppy was done. She just flopped on the tile floor, laid her head between her paws and started to fall asleep.

I headed down to Antones last night. It was Clifford’s welcome home party. He has been “unavailable” for a couple of years. I walked in to a packed club, lots of cameras, lots of musicians and lots of good old fashioned blues. I haven’t seen some of the musicians for a couple of years. I got a big hug and a dance with Clifford, got to socialize a bunch and I don’t’ think I made it home before 2:45. Some times when the music and the line up are that good, you just have to stay out late. The local paper did an article this morning: http://www.statesman.com/metrostate/content/metro/060303/0603antone.html/ but they didn’t mention half the folks that were there.

Off to work and a nap at lunch today.
