Journalcon Austin 2003, long day at the office and not much else.
04/25/2003
I managed to get lots of work done at the office yesterday. I am ready to run the monthly checks and have posted the rents. I answered the hate mail earlier in the month so I am ahead of schedule as of now. I get a few letters a month about move outs. We occasionally make a mistake but not very often. Each letter requires a personal response, no form letters for this task.
I headed home and fed the dog, went down to the Omni for a Journalcon meeting. It was a long meeting I didn’t get home until after 10. I get tired by that time and it was a bitch trying to find parking last night. I circled the block 4 times to land a spot about 5 blocks away. Part of the problem is the “homeland security” measures. We have a federal building that covers a roadway here in Austin. Well, that part of the street is shut down, you just can’t park there because of fear of a bomb. It interrupts traffic flow, we lost more parking and it is just annoying.
Wow, guess I am just a little cranky today. I will stop bitching and just post so I don't get myself in trouble.
