Sitting in the rose garden, surfing the net.

Saba and I are having a little fun time in the backyard, it is a beautiful day. The sun was out, my guest arrived, got the badges and all is good.

Just checked NASCAR, the qualifying is done. Dale Jr. starts 37, Dale Jarett starts 16 and Mark Martin starts 29th. The line up seems a little bit mixed up. I wonder what the heck is going on with the cars. I don’t recall who did testing at Atlanta. I wonder if the weather has changed, did they redo the track? Hum lots of questions to be answered on Sunday.

I went to three parties last night. My guest and I started at the bosses house. It was a 21st birthday party for sons girlfriend. They did fajitas and Margaritas. It was a lively group, about 15 guests. The students were talking about there plans for Spring Beak, some are going to Mexico, some are heading to the Texas Coast and a few will have to stay home and work. My guest was a hit at the party, he got along with everyone. We had to dash out early, 2 more parties to go.

Second party was the SXSW film opening party. Lots of Black there. Film people seem to come in 2 forms: Black jeans, black turtleneck and black shoes or Indy type of folks, I call them thrift store junkies. Scouing the racks to get the retro look. The party was well attended, I think I hooked up my guest for a TV spot on Sunday night. I ran into one of the directors for the CBS affiliate earlier in the day and at the party last night we saw her again along with a producer. They exchanged cards and will try to hook up today.

Off to the last part of the evening: The interactive kick off. I think I got the party start times backwards. We arrived at the spot and had to pay a cover to get in. I didn’t get a chance to see the folks I was looking for. I think they had all left. There is another interactive event tonight so I will try to hook up with them this afternoon or tonight. Since I have been journaling, I feel a little more connected to this group and want to bounce an idea or two off some folks.

Off to work this morning then to the conferences.
