Mark Martin finished 7th but is 4th in points. Not a bad day for the older racers

Dale Jarrett won the race by playing the tire game. He held Kurt Bush off on the last 10 laps. I wasn’t sure if it was going to be fuel or tires that won the race. The old guys have raced Rockingham NC for years and have a feel for the track, the grooves and the tire wear. The Fords came in strong. I a was a little surprised the Chevy’s didn’t show better after there domination last week during the restrictor plate race at Daytona. Poor Dale Jr., he is having a miserable start to the season. Blew a tire, wrecked the wheel housing....
I spent the evening at Malibu Raceway. It was my birthday party, I threw it myself. I managed to round up 10 friends and raced the go carts. It was lots of fun. The boss and his wife did some laps and I think they enjoyed themselves. I know I was grinning the whole time. I managed to get a birthday cake with Jeff Gordon’s race car on it. There were party goodies and I got a bunch of nifty presents. I was not really expecting presents. I guess I just didn’t think about that part. I just wanted to get together with friends and have a little silly fun. Mission Accomplished.
