November 2003

Well it wasn’t turkey but tuna steaks and I couldn’t find the Christmas lights.
I had a productive Thanksgiving and managed to get one big chore done. Since I bought the casa, I don’t have to move anymore. Guess what? Stuff just piles up and gets unruly. I started off Thanksgiving morning planning to get some of the clutter and paperwork sorted out. A bunch of hours later, I am more comfortable with me casa.

81 days, 19 hours until the 2004 Daytona 500
Ok so I borrowed that from Jayski’s site, thanks but that was what I was thinking last night. I did a lot of running around on Sunday and I should be working on the yard. That is what the off season is for doing chores.

Morning All!
It’s South Austin, morning can be at any time of the day or evening. We don’t always stick to the rules down here. Wow what a busy little weekend. I managed to read a book, clean the house, have a home cooked meal and an excursion to the big box stores.

I have a little tear running down my face.
I am sitting here watching Dad pack his bag and get ready for his departure from Austin. It has been a fabulous 10 day visit and I am a little sad he is leaving. We went to the museum, we played in the park, we had a birthday party, a graduation and a park protest lunch. The time just flew by.

I am still here, just having a bit of FUN!
I managed to get Dad grabbed up from the airport on Tuesday Afternoon. I was a tad late and his flight was early. I grabbed up Saba and we headed into the terminal to find Dad, well I goofed, Saba can only go in when he is flying, I was gently reminded by the security personnel. Woops, just a blond moment.

Oops almost a week with out a post.
It’s been a little hectic in my little world and I needed a break. I didn’t do to much over the week. I managed to look at a business that is for sale. I don’t think it is doable, the owner wants way to much money for it and I don’t think it can support my life style.

Hey we have some statistics today:
"According to NASCAR, the average NASCAR fan is 36 years old and makes $45,000 annually. Sixty-two percent are male, 38 percent female, and 41 percent attend college. Sixty eight percent are married and 38 percent have children.

Jr. nails the finish.
We headed out to the track a little early today, the boys partied a little hard last night but there was only a little whining this morning. Managed to get every on in the car on the way by 9:00 am. It is always difficult to get to the track on Cup race day. Seems everyone shows up. I have 160K new friends.

Rain in the desert- race delayed.
We headed out to the track it was a little cloudy and overcast. We got there in time for Winston Cup Happy Hour. Some of the cars looked good in practice. I am not sure how they are going to do at the race tomorrow, with the rain and the clouds, the track is going to change a bunch. It is suppose to 70 and sunny for Sunday. The track will be cleaned from the rain.
