Robby # 31 starts 31 on Sunday- we will see what practice is like tomorrow.
The Phoenix track got reworked since I was here last year. They took the pedestrian bridge out, put in a tunnel then repaved the track. Lots of cars were slipping on turn 4 where the track was reworked. The cars just were not sticking there. They widened turn 2 by about 15 feet so there is major changes to the track.

On the way to Phoenix- At the airports
I met up with D Ash on the way to Phoenix today at Austin Airport. He is the uncle of The BRANDON ASH the Racecar driver who will be qualifying the 02 for the Winston Cup Race on Sunday. Ash usually drives in the Winston West Series. D and I chatted a bunch on the way to the race and it turned out the we were staying in adjoining hotels. I offered him a ride to the hotel if he didn’t mind waiting for Brother.

I am sitting at home during the middle of the day due to my stupidity, or rather a blond moment.
I was working at the office this morning and got a bit distracted. I had to head outside to check on a few things and didn’t lock the office door or bring my keys with me. My ever wonderful office assistant was in and I wasn’t to concerned. That is until I realized she had left for class, locked the office up with my keys, phone and purse in it! So I guess I have a little time to update what has been going on for the last few days.

JornalCon made the local weekly:

It’s nice to get a little press attention. I finally had a Devota day on Saturday. I lounged in my pj’s most of the morning, headed out to Yoga, stopped at the local party shop, the dog park and then to see the movie Kill Bill.

A glance into other peoples lives - Police10 hour ride along
I decided on a pair of jeans yesterday to head out for my night of riding with a police officer. A tad nervous, I made my way done to the Substation for the 3:30 appointment. The sift started at 4:00 and we were told in class to get there a ½ hour early. Make sure we check in and get assigned. We were told it was up to the district whether or not we got to sit in on the shift briefing. I missed that part, there was a little confusion about my showing up to ride along, I guess the message didn’t get passed along.

Baby don’t leave your fingerprints at a crime scene.
It was forensics last nigh in police class. They have some groovy new tools, there is more science on the way and bad boy, you will get caught! The presentation was very good, lots of information, a bunch of slides and some nifty new tools. I got to hear the stories of my classmates ride alongs. (I head out tonight.)

Oh Robby, 36th place finish?
Robby had a bad day again, this time at Martinsville. He was feeling ill with food poisoning and got 2 liters of fluid before the race. Poor Baby. Wrecked the race car and just had a bad weekend.

JournalCon-Done
I didn’t have a lot of time over the weekend to update, I had a house guest, had the conference and very little sleep. Yup, it was fun, yup there were some really nice people, yup, I made some new friends, but I am VERY glad it is over.

Gack, I am late for work
I still need a shower, the house is cleaned for my guest. Boy did we have a lot of dust kittens, guess I haven’t been home much lately. JournalCon kicks off today at 3:00. Met up with the happy hour group last night after yoga and went to MagCaf. Yummy. I have the VCR ready to go to tape the races this weekend, I don’t get to see them live so no telling me what happens until I get to watch!

So, how about the new look?
Iko and I have been working on this little project for about 2 weeks now, it has all been done over the net, no phone calls, I haven't met her but I will this weekend! I am just so excited, I think we have a great new look!

Helicopters and financial crimes:
It was the class I was looking forward to. Turned out to be a good time, I got some ribbing in on the helicopter crews as they told us it was the quietest copter they could buy. Sure, sure I said, have you ever been startled by the windows rattling, bright lights in the back yard and barking dogs in the middle of the night?

Just a quick update:
I am working feverishly on the JournalCon stuff, the conference is 2 days away. The website redesign is going to be incredible! I can’t wait until you all can see it. Had a Police class last night, communications and the police chief. I have met the chief before (I am on the chief’s forum). We got to tour the 911/311 and dispatch center. They were taking live calls as we watched, neat, very neat. Good news yesterday on Kenny Brack, I found a news release that said he had back surgery yesterday and was moving fingers and toes. I am thankful for that and will keep him in my prayers as he recovers. I have another police class tonight, I just can’t remember what the topics are…

Hero’s of Indy Race and IRL Championship red flagged.
The best part of the day was the Hero’s race: Johnny Rutherford, Lloyd Ruby, Tom Sneve, Pancho Carter, Arie Luyendyk… and the list goes on. These were drivers I have heard about for years, I have seen some of them race, I have heard there names for years. To see them lined up in there roadsters was just awesome.

Oh what a lucky girl I am!
I got to the track yesterday morning and as I was walking into the gate, I met Bill. Bill had and extra ticket also. We got our David Starr bobble head dolls and were heading towards our seats.

Child abuse last nigh in class.
Oh disturbing, very disturbing. How could someone do these things to a kid? We saw a nanny cam video that was just outrageous, damage to some of these kids that was out of my realm of reality.

What a fun weekend, and extra dogs in the bedroom.
Dinner w/Cranky Friday, Lecture on Saturday with Anne, http://www.livingfromtheinsideout.us/ my yoga instructor. Church and racing on Sunday, then dinner with Linda, Pat, Cranky and Kramer. I managed to get Saba to the park twice this weekend and then we ended up with a couple of extra dogs last night.

JournalCon, work and breakdowns.
Ok so JournalCon is eating me alive right now. I am looking forward to getting it going. I seem to be spending lots of time and just pray it will be a great conference. I am having a difficult time at work, tenants are driving me nuts and I need a few days off. OH YES, TX Motor Speedway is on the calendar shortly, something to look forward to.

Homicide and Sex Crimes last night.
I dashed out of the office last night, I was trying to get to class on time and Saba was just being obstinate. He didn’t want to go out, he didn’t want to eat his dinner and I was in a rush. Poor baby got kicked outside with no dinner as I dashed out the door.
