Rain delays at Indy, late for the drivers meeting…
Oh boy did Robby have a frustrating day yesterday. I dashed home from church to find the Indy 500 was in a rain delay. The rain lasted for a two hours. When the cars finally got on the track, on lap 27 it starts raining again. Robby had to leave the Indy and get to Charlotte. His backup driver took over the seat and off he went to the Coca-Cola 600.

All Star Race and a criminal for the night.
I spent part of Tuesday helping out the Police Departments cadet class with criminal roll play. They needed some volunteers to help with this segment of training and I figured since I had the night off, it would be a good thing to do.

Tuesday update
Didn’t have much time to post over the weekend and then Monday got filled up. I headed down to the Thunderhill Raceway on Saturday night. I know the Nextel All Star race was on but it wasn’t a point race and we do need to support out local tracks.

It’s Ok Robby, I will support your decision.
Robby Gordon will be skipping Nazareth and Charlotte in the # 55 Busch car. I was wondering how he was going to be a Super, Super Hero. I think the Indy and the Cup races are enough for May. I am ok with the double instead of the triple.

A busy weekend for Robby Gordon.
The results: 19th in Busch, 18th for Indy and 24th 3 laps down for Cup.

Ouch, Robby hits the wall.
Indy practice was rain delayed for a couple of hours yesterday. Robby hit the turn one wall but says he is OK.

No more clearance bins.
I got a few emails and a couple of phone call about the last entry. There are still a few nice guys left, I just needed to be reminded. You are right, I am wrong, will you forgive me?

Going through the clearance bin.
Digging in and looking for that gem, The Deal, that “I can’t live with out”. The “I have to have it”. Men, yes, I am talking about men. I have realized over the last couple of weeks, I am down to the clearance table at the discount store. There are just some items no matter what they cost; you just need to leave them in that bin.

10 years ago today, I landed in the small college town of Austin TX.
I had decided to leave my hometown of Connecticut; I had spent 6 months looking for a new place to live. I traveled to different cities, got the newspapers delivered and searched the statistics on housing, jobs and cost of living. This was before the wide spread use of the internet and you had to do the research at the library.
