Traffic, Traffic 200,000 people trying to get into the parking lots.
I managed to get in just in time for the invocation and the national anthem. I missed the driver introductions but was listening to them on the radio on the way in. I was almost in tears thinking I would miss part of the race.

Tony Stuarts car gets confiscated, Ricky Craven thinks he sees oil and the qualifying order didn’t include all the fun of the day.
I was listening to the scanner after Michael Waltrip qualifed, and the other spotters were saying he was bitching about the car. “It was the worse car he ever drove”, could it have something to do with the hangover you had this morning Michael?

Just got home from the track, practice, qualifying, fireworks and Fandango.
I have the greatest seats! They are on the start/finish line. High enough to be able to see all the turns. I watched all of the Bush practice and qualifying.

We are here, in the groovy little Forth Worth House.
We made the trip a little earlier than expected and ended up having a nice dinner up here in Fort Worth. I managed to really piss the neighbor off before I left Austin but I think it is fixed now. I am heading out to the track early tomorrow to check out the drive, go to practice and testing and make sure I know where I am going.

I am packed, Saba’s bag is packed.
We are heading out today to go to the races. I am SO excited! We are going to take the drive this evening after traffic dies down. I think I over packed but I will need cloths for 5 days. I want to look sharp, want to be warm and be comfortable.

Michael Waltrip, you stink.
Bush races in Bristol TN. Regan Smith in the 22 was wrecked by Michael Waltrip in the 99 Aaron’s rental car. He just got up under him lifted the back end and slammed him into the turn 4 wall. You dumb ass, just because you broke a shock early in the race, don’t take your bad attitude out on the other drivers.

I am sitting here in Austin wondering what I can do to support our troops.
I have written a letter to a good friend of mine in the service, I will send that out today. I am sure it will be a few weeks before he gets it and I want him to know he is in my thoughts and prayers.

I have met George W. Bush a few times, when he was Governor of Texas. I have heard stories about he and his wife. I do trust George to do the right thing, from what I know and what I have heard, he is a stand up guy.

SXSW is 10 days long, starting with film and interactive then on to music. I have a ton of contact information on my desk and need to start e-mailing some of these folks. I waited until today so I would at least be coherent with my notes. I got some sleep last night and fee like I can function now.

OMG! I just watched the race from Darlington, what a photo finish!
I had to tape the race due to prior commitments. I didn’t look at NASCAR.com all day Sunday or Monday, so I popped the tape in the VCR tonight. I heard the finish was awsome.

I attended the Governors Salute to TX Music (I got my photo with the Gov.),and then headed over to the Austin Music Awards. I had heard rumors that Del Castillo would be getting a few awards but they took a bunch.

Mark Martin Did Not Finish the engine blew
Poor Mark that just stinks. Dale Jarrett got run into got a DNF along with Jeff Gordon. There was a nasty crash that wiped out a bunch of cars. Dale gave the offender, Steve Park the one finger salute live on TV. I wonder what his fine will be.

Michael Waltrip ran into Jamie McMurray last night during practice.

"I was running, trying the high line, and Jamie was going to let me go or something," a visually dejected Waltrip said. "Before he was supposed to let off, he let off and I hit him. I'm sure he thought he was getting out of my way, but he was in the high lane. I don't know what he was thinking."
