Yes, that was me on the radio yesterday.
I spent part for Saturday at the Austin Convention Centre for “Talk Fest” sponsored by 590 KLBJ AM Radio. One of the folks I listen to all the time was in town: Clark Howard, the consumer empowerment guy.

A bit of a scare, act quickly.
I was just plugging along yesterday at the cop shop when a scattered sort of guy walks up to the counter. He is not quite right, he is distracted, and his eyes are a bit odd looking. He is looking for the court he tells me he has a 1:00 trial.

Mid January: Its SXSW.com time again.
It seems like my life is just plodding along: it is time to gear up for the upcoming film/interactive/music festivals. I worked the volunteer calls yesterday. There were lots of new folks lining up to sign up. I did find out that I was on the TV for the past few days. One of the news stations was running clips from last year, just a quick shot of me answering questions last year. I don’t think I made the news this year, I didn’t manage to watch any news last night, but I didn’t see any cameras pointed my way.

It’s Jim Beam and Fruit of the Loom.

Sponsor announcements yesterday at Daytona. The colors are out the cars are painted. Thanks Robby I like the colors much better: red for Jim Beam and blue for Fruit of the Loom.

What Is a RAP Sheet?
• “RAP” stands for Record of Arrests and Prosecutions. A “rap sheet” is a record of an individual’s criminal history i.e. any contact he or she may have had with the criminal justice system. If you have ever been arrested, even if the case was dismissed or you were found not guilty, you will still have a rap sheet.

Stage 6 a flip
I read that Robby and Dirk managed to flip the car and limp it back to the check point for stage 6. That dropped us a bunch in the standings, dam. They came in hours behind the competitors. That leaves them in 26th place overall.

Dakar Rally and pansies.
Going strong! Robby and Dirk are 1, ? 5, and 1 in the stages. I can’t find the stage 2 times but the standings are looking good. Overall standings, # 1. BTW, nice photos of a happy Robby Gordon are showing up in the official Dakar site.

Dakar Stage 1 = #1
Robby Gordon and Dirk Von Zitzewitz are leading in the VW car. I saw the posting at number 1 early yesterday, but they were the first cars in. What a great surprise this morning they led segment 1. Oh, by the way, Happy Birthday Robby! I know it’s the 2nd, but you’re a bit ahead of me with the time difference over in Spain, so early wishes are in order.
