Ok so I canceled my date with the professor.
As you can tell from reading, my life is a wee bit stressful right now. He called last night to see if we were on for Thursday. I explained I was not my happy Devota self and would need to pass on the invitation.

A quiet Saturday and Sunday
It was cold and rainy most of the weekend.
I managed to score a really comfy chair for the bedroom. I was looking at the thrift stores, the discount stores then saw a sign on the side of the road. “emergency fire liquidation”. It seems that there was a fire in the back of the warehouse of this little furniture store. Lopez Furniture on the corner of South 1st and William Cannon.

Friday night at pet smart
Ok so am I a Loser? I don't feel like one. I was just reading some stuff on fuckedcompany.com about 30’s woman not finding men. There is a new book out and the comments on the message board hurt a little.

I had a dinner date with the Professor.
He picked me up and we headed out for a little Italian place I know. Nice touch he had Frank Sanatra (?) on the stereo for the drive.

The Tux was rented, the cab was late but everything worked out fine.
It was in a mad dash to get ready for the ball. I had ONE hour to pull it off. Poor Saba, he got put outside for the evening. I couldn’t have dog fur on my ball gown.

Sunday I was on the run all day long. Breakfast with Teresa, SXSW Vol. Call and then journal con meeting. I stopped home to feed the dog, cat and fish between meetings.

Ok so the day started out stressful and was getting worse when I decide to go to the casa for a quick lunch break. I nuke my lunch, surf the web and am in better spirit as I walk out the front door and head back to work. I check the mailbox on the way back, sometimes we get the mail early, sometimes late in the day.
Pop over the fence to see what is in the box as a police cruiser ambles by. I look to see who is driving but the sun is glaring off the windshield and I can’t see. I walk up the parking lot to the office and the officer pulls in behind me. No big deal, I think it may be one of the many officers I know from the neighborhood, just stopping to socialize.
