Post race weekend.
04/10/2008

I keep changing my screen saver at work to different race weekend photos.

I stopped at the store last night and bought some curtains for Saba’s baby sitter, some stuff for a baby shower this weekend and a couple of stock items for me. I ended up missing the bus yesterday and had to drive into work (yuck) and try to find a parking space. After a spell and watching the other 4 cars circling the lot, I called the boss and asked if I could use one of the unit’s spaces. I figured since I had the car, I might as well head to the store after work.

I dropped the curtains off for T and helped her hang them. I thought if I gave her money for helping me out, it would get spent on necessities. I wanted her to have something nice, she always helps me out. They looked great, I need to look for a few rods for her, but we tacked up a couple and that will work until we can get finished. It was nice to chit chat with her; I had something I was mulling over and sometimes it just helpful to have a second opinion.

I have been plowing through the paperwork that comes along with my job and finally feel like I have a handle on my desk. I was only gone 5 days, over a weekend, but my unit doesn’t take weekends off if there is a large event. This time there were two. I finally had time to skim the two reports yesterday and have a handle on the events.

Tonight, I am going to poke around the internet and see if I can find another race track to go to this summer. I think it would be nice to have a break in July or August. I tried some freeware for the race schedules and ended up wasting an hour trying to download it. I couldn’t get it to launch so I will keep looking.

I heard Robby Gordon will be driving the # 22 Nationwide car along with his #7 cup car again this weekend. It looks like it will be a nice weekend for racing in Phoenix. I wish I still had my tickets there, but back to back race weekends just didn’t seem like they would work out with keeping a steady job. That job thing, it really interferes with my social life!
