Sometimes my mom is just clueless.
We were discussing my trip to FL and I told her how much I had budgeted for fuel, for lodging and I didn’t even mention the tires I need. She was shocked how much it was going to cost me to do this drive across the southern states. It will take me about 19 hours in drive time, about 22 hours each way. She said it would be cheaper to fly, but it isn’t I checked the prices, they are looking for over $1,000.- for holiday airfare now. I wouldn’t be able to see Dad, if I just flew in to see her.
Sometimes you just have to do what you need to. I made a deal, I keep my word and Saba and I will be trekking cross country shortly. I will probably get excited sometime next week, but right now, it is just this burden hanging over me.
It’s off to the place I call work, a test today to see if I speak Spanish well enough to get a monthly allowance. I am a bit nervous about the test, but I will know in a couple of hours if I will be “certified” to speak Spanish at work.
