Still on Dial up – 25 feet and they still can’t or haven’t moved the high speed!
04/09/2007

Working on chasing bad guys, working on the new house, working on the old house and Nascar Grand Nationals. The USAC midgets got sleeted out and Texas coming up this week.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I am so frustrated with dial up, have to wait and wait for pages to load, it’s driving me nuts! How could they move the high speed from the old house to the old house and think they were done? Imagine how the customer service person I keep emailing feels. Yup, they moved the dial tone to the new house but turned off the high speed off and then back on in a house that doesn’t have a dial tone? Got to love big companies, when they screw up, they screw up. I can’t even run the wireless from the old house to the new house since there is no dial tone.

Anyway: I was able to help out with the broadcasting of the West series that visited my local track Thunder Hill Raceway in Kyle TX. It was a blast again this year. It was there first race of the season, the first local race of the season and I was so happy to have racing back. I was spotting for the announcers, working with the internet broadcasters and just doing what I love: watching fast cars. I wish we could get a second touring series race here, but I am sure glad we get them once a year. I was a good decision by the promoter to let all the cars run in the feature. Two would have been sent home after not qualifying, but all the cars ended up on the track. It was exciting, but there were lots of cautions during the race. Not a whole lot of laps for these big block fast cars. Once they got opened up and running, they were fast and fun to watch. I just wish the cautions didn’t last so long.

I was looking forward to the Midges this weekend, but we got weathered out. It was freezing in central Texas as I was waiting for the racing to get started. I was watching the weather, planning my chores for the morning to be at the track on time in the afternoon. I was headed out for lunch with T. when the telephone rang. It was the office calling: There was a murder to work. I headed to work to do my little part in catching bad guys. I was watching the clock, but the weather caused the race to be canceled. Sorry for the promoter, two times in a row and they have not been able to run the USAC races here in TX. The line up was a record number of cars.

The Murderer was caught this morning; felony Murder charges filed this afternoon when he was booked into jail. I am just glad I live in my own little world. There are some times when I really don’t want to know how other people live. It doesn’t make sense to me, I don’t understand them.

I spent Easter Sunday finishing up the old house. I put a second coat of paint on the walls, grouted the bathtub and got the floors finished up. Just the oven left to clean along with putting the mailbox out at the curb. I am still interviewing prospective tenants, I haven’t found a good match yet.

I am meeting brother at the airport on Thursday afternoon. We are heading to Texas Motor Speedway for the spring races. I can’t wait, I am ready for a break from the houses, construction and murders.
