It’s not so bad being me.

I went to a team building event yesterday at the park.
It was kinda fun, getting away from the office, seeing the detectives in street cloths, having a bit of fun, socializing and food. We played volleyball and had a cookout with way too much food. The picnic tables were piled high with side dishes, with sweets and lots of finger food. I enjoyed myself, got to play a few games of volleyball; I managed to score a couple of points for my team and left feeling rather good about myself. I had to head back to the office, it was timesheet day and I hadn’t gotten it done before I left the office. I had to call the Lt. and ask what he had worked this week and he was a little upset that I had gone back to the office. Oh well, sometimes you just can’t please everyone.
One little quip hurt my feelings a bit, but I am going to let it go. I assume it wasn’t meant to hurt me, but it did hurt my feelings. Just for the record: I don’t’ wear orange lipstick, I always use a shade of rose. It goes better with my coloring. Hugh!
Saba, Sid and I curled up last night, the heat came on for the first time, it is just above freezing. I guess Sid has forgiven me for locking him in the closet. He was all snuggled up with me, Saba on one side and Sid on the other. I was talking on the telephone with a friend last night, she is having work issues, and I know that feeling. I had been there and done that with my old unit. It causes a lot of unneeded stress when the fashion police and the jealously monsters rear there ugly heads. It is tougher for her; she has a young daughter and a husband to worry about along with all the other crap. I think it helped her to vent a bit, to gossip a bit and I told her I know what she is going through.
Today is a meeting with the US Marshals. I have been working on a project for the last couple of weeks to get ready for this meeting. We are going to be working with them to try to locate a bunch of bad guys. We know who they are, know what they did, but we haven’t been able to locate them. If they find the bad guys, there worlds will be shattered: They will be facing murder trials. I hope the meeting goes well.
