Dakar kicks off today

Robby is driving for VW, team 4, car # 317, it has a green windscreen.
I loaded the Dakar site at home and sent the link to work. It’s a 16 day grueling course and lots of mayhem to follow. Pre-inspection was yesterday, they should start racing on the 31st. I need to check the time difference; I think it is a 12 hour time difference so we should have results when I wake up after each segment.
I was reading the bio of Robby and Dirk von Zitzewitz his co driver. It looks like we are going into this with an experienced team and lots of factory support. What a way to spend new years and a birthday. Just what a racer should be doing, driving.
Me, I am just plugging along. I don’t have much news. I have been doing the regular things, work and yoga. I took Ms. S Mc to the gym with me on Tuesday, she is home for the holiday break. I can’t believe she is ready to graduate college this May. It seems like just a few years ago her mother and I were battling with the junior high school over her green and purple hair. It was a maddening phase for her mother, I would just laugh. Ms. Mc thought it was hip to go and hang out on the drag with the homeless kids. She was wearing pins and spikes and various chains, she wasn’t that attractive with that image, but it was harmless, it was just a phase. Today, she is one gorgeous young woman, tall and lanky, natural color hair and a great spirit. I plan to be at her graduation come hell or high water, I have worked with her through all of this, when times were better, I would give her money for books and things. I know already, I will be crying when she gets that degree. I am so proud of her.
Its off to the cop shop for another exciting day.
