Qualifying (sort of) and relocating.
08/09/2003
I was watching qualifying last night when brother called. I missed most of the event but I can tell you Jeff Gordon won the pole. Robby Gordon was 0.898 seconds behind him but ends up starting 14th. I did see a replay of a wheel hop by Robby but not much else from last night.
Brother is going to be relocating again. Sounds like he will be up in the mountains of New Mexico. He fly’s out on Monday or Tuesday to check out the site. He will be looking for housing and such. I think he will like the mountains better then the desert floor where he is located now. He will be rebuilding infrastructure from the fires last year. Looks like it will be a 2 year project. I do like New Mexico, sounds like a nice road trip for Saba and I.
Brother told me he will not be going to the Phoenix races with me. I need to figure out a rental car and what to do with the extra ticket. I have a few months to figure all this out, the race is in the end of October. Maybe things will change by then and I will have a significant other. Yah right! I think I will just look for someone to share expenses with. The hotel is already booked and the tickets purchased so I am going no matter what. Worst case I sell the ticket once I get there.
Saba and I headed for the lake last night. It was a scorcher here yesterday. The official temperature was 110 degrees. I think it was hotter than that where I was, you could just feel the heat radiating off the concrete and asphalt. We headed out between the thunder storms that popped last night. I just love the little park we go to. We both can take a swim and he doesn’t have to have his leash. Once we were done, headed back to the house and cooked a little dinner. Cranky joined in for a new dish: vegetable pasta, garlic and herb cheese sauce with a little sour cream added. Tomatoes, avocado and a few onions mixed in. Yummy. It might be better chilled but I will try that next time.
