Races, socializing and sunburn
06/07/2003

I had headed out to TMS yesterday morning after the rain had passed. I got to watch the Legends races the Indy practice and the Trucks last night.

I forgot all about the sunscreen, it was a cloudy day the wind was blowing and it was nice and cool. Well I am a little blonder this morning and you can defiantly see my eyebrows now. I watched the Legends cars early in the day. Boy are they lots of fun. I know they race at Thunderhill so I will head down for some of those races. I managed to get the schedule so I know what nights they race.

I hung out in the parking lot with a nice bunch of guys waiting for the main events to start. I wondered around the vendor areas got lots of junk and then watched the Indy cars practice. They had an autograph session after the practice and I managed to snag quite a few signatures. It was lots of fun. The one of the drivers played guitar with a rock band. The band was good, lots of cover songs, but it was a good distraction.

The trucks were the main event last night. Brendan Gaughn managed to win the race for the third time. He has won three times in a row in TX. The race was exciting but I was getting tired by the end of it. 14 hours of racing and I began to hit tilt. After the race T and I hung out in the parking lot waiting for the lots to clear. I managed to get back to the house just a little after midnight. Saba was very happy to see me. Silly dog, I had left his dinner for him when I left in the morning but he never bothered to eat it.

We just hopped into bed and are up and ready for racing again today. It should be a fun filled day again, heading to the track shortly and will remember to bring the sunscreen and will be buying a hat today.
