The roof has been raised
04/22/2003

The crew started to work on raising the roof yesterday. They were jacking the roof and had 3 out of 4 support beams in place and one of the jacks tipped. The roof ended up about 2 feet off the frame. Thank god the barn held and no one was hurt. They were able to winch the roof back into place last night and will be arriving shortly to do the interior framing. I am getting very excited about the barn progress. I will have to stop after the framing and wait to save a little money to do the next steps. I figure it will be a few months for the next parts but I will have a nice workable space in the mean time.

Lots of follow up from the Bob Marley Festival yesterday. I called the complaining lady back and explained to her that her claim of assault was a non incident in my eyes. She put her mom on the phone and boy did it get icky. I wonder what kind of tails she was spinning to her mom. The details were not connected to what I witnessed and what I investigated. I got exasperated with Mom and told her she needed to follow up with the promoters. She is threatening to sue the festival and me personally. I wrote up the incident report and am having the others involved do the same. I wanted to get the details down when they were fresh in my mind. Ungrateful, law breaking, drunken VIP’s. Go figure.

I am heading off this morning to work and then the South Austin Culture Club lunch. We have 60 confirmed as of this morning. It should be a good time. I am going to corner the mayor about the Parks Department and there grass permits and the Parking Garage issues. I wonder where this is going to lead.
I managed to pick up the CAT toys for the table displays. I didn’t realize how much the scale metal models cost. One of them has a price tag of about $100.00. I am then heading to a police event after work. It will be a fun filled day again today.
