Jeff Gordon won his 1st race of the season.
04/14/2003

Stopped yesterday and watched the race. It was short track in Martinsville VA.

I was cleaning the casa & watching the race. There was a little bit of bumping and banging on the last few laps of the race. I hate when the caution fly’s in the last 10 laps of the race. That has happened 2 out of 3 weeks. Bobbie Labonte and Jeff Gordon were bumping and shoving in the last 10. Bobbie took 2 tires instead of 4 on the last caution. Good move for him. He got track position and restarted first. Ricky Craven cut a tire and caused Dale Jr. to finish 3rd. They ran into each other. Poor Ricky, he finished 27th. Elliott Sadler got a top 5 finish, nice job for the M&M team. What was up with Tony Stewart? He had a flat on the last 2 laps but finished the race in 6th due to the caution. Tony Stewart seemed a little pissed at the end of the race I didn‘t see a media interview. Not a great day for my drivers, Mark Martin ended up 17th and Dale Jarett 20th.

I fell sound asleep after the race. I was sacked out till almost 8:00. The only reason I woke up was Saba wanted dinner. I had stayed out late on Saturday night/Sunday morning. I went out to see Del Castillo at Steamboat. It was a nice show, the place was packed and I got to socialize a bunch. I guess I just hit tilt yesterday afternoon. I missed the sing along party. OOPS, I didn’t want to show up that late. Grabbed dinner and headed back to dream land.

The contractor got the trash out of the backyard on Saturday. The recommendations the engineer wanted are done and we are ready to pour concrete. YAH! The yard looks much better and I am hopeful we will get grass planted this week. I need to decide where to put my garden. I want to plant a small vegetable garden in the back yard. I might as well decide before we put the grass in. Heading off to work today, lots of postcards to address and stamp.
