Mark Martin Did Not Finish the engine blew
03/03/2003

Poor Mark that just stinks. Dale Jarrett got run into got a DNF along with Jeff Gordon. There was a nasty crash that wiped out a bunch of cars. Dale gave the offender, Steve Park the one finger salute live on TV. I wonder what his fine will be.

2 Fords, 6 Chevy’s and 2 Doge’s in the top ten. Matt Kenseth won the race in his DeWalt Ford, Dale Earnhardt Jr. came in second in his Budweiser Chevy, Michael Waltrip next then Bobby Labonte, Tony Stewart, Jeff Burton, Ryan Newman then Sterling Marlin in the dodge, Joe Nemecheck and then Steve Park in 10th.

The first hundred laps of the race were green flag. Then the cautions started coming out. Did you ever notice that Cautions breed cautions? The pack was four wide at points in the race. Las Vegas nice wide tracks and no out of bounds. Ryan Newman managed to get in the top ten after being 2 laps down. The cautions helped him bunches. I am glad Dale Jr. got a top 5, his the first two races of the season were not very good for him.

SXSW meeting had interrupted my race watching. I was scheduled to be at a meeting at 2, ˝ hour after the race coverage started. I popped the video in and headed to the meeting. The powers to be forgot they scheduled me for this 2 months ago. There was nothing for me to do, so I went home and watched the last half of the race live. Sometimes you just catch a lucky break.
